The range of PCB prototyping has now been supplemented with the LPKF ProtoMat D104 with an integrated high-precision UV laser. The ProtoMat D104 combines the best of two worlds and adds new machining options such as depaneling of flex and rigid-flex boards and machining of fired ceramics. As well as the precise geometries with straight side walls required in RF circuits to PCB prototyping.

LPKF ProtoMat D104 – Mechanical and Laser Machining in One System

The ProtoMat D104 includes a non-contact sensor for automated tool depth adjustment allowing for unattended operations. An integrated vacuum table holds the substrate firmly in place. A vision system can read in material positions and measure the structuring results.

The integrated UV laser extends the range of possible applications: With a focus size of just 15 µm, minimum PCB track widths of 50 μm and spaces of 15 μm can be achieved.
