You know that Silicones play an important role to electronics manufacturing. When you want to Insulate a Power Device from the heatsink, Silpad is used in place of Mica. In some situations, where a higher temperature is expected, Mica or Alumina is inevitable, but these are fragile.

Resistors are probably the most common and well known of all electrical components.
